ABOUT US
Hi, my name is Heather, and I am The Little Earth Company. All of the products on this site are handmade by me, in my kitchen. This company was born when our infant son developed eczema. Like always, I did research on the best way to treat eczema in infants, and the prominent solution was to use handmade soap. I bought one bar of handmade soap, and I was hooked. My son's eczema was gone, and the only thing we did different was use this handmade soap. It was also much more moisturizing than any liquid or bar soap I had used in the past. So I thought, well, I can make this! Thus my first batch of soap was made. We loved it so much that we wanted to share with family, so they all got soap for Christmas. Guess what? They loved it, too! This was in November and December of 2008. Since then I have gone on to perfect my soap recipe, incorporating organic carrier oils, and adding body scrubs, lotions, and masks to the line. I am also pleased to announce that my products are now featured at the North Fork Mountain Inn in Smoke Hole, WV!
I love the fact that I am able to make and provide natural and organic bath and body products. It is very rewarding to me to know that I am helping to reduce the use of chemical-laden products. A goal of mine is to become well-known locally so that if someone in my area wishes to buy handmade products, they know exactly where to go. Along with that, one of the things that I like to do is participate in the local mom's club. It gives my young boys a chance to play with other kids, and it gives me some much-needed adult interaction! Besides that, I enjoy crocheting (especially hats and scarves in the winter time), reading (when I have time!), target shooting (I live in West Virginia, so it's only natural, right?), bowling, photographing my boys, and spending time with my little family.
Since inception, I have strived to be as eco-friendly as possible. Below is a list of things I do to stay eco-friendly:
